📘 TLC Educational Guide
Principle: Thin Layer Chromatography separates compounds based on their relative affinity towards stationary and mobile phases.
Procedure:
- Prepare the TLC plate.
- Apply small spots of the sample near the bottom.
- Place the plate in solvent chamber.
- Allow the solvent to rise.
- Remove and mark solvent front.
- Visualize spots under UV or staining.
Precautions:
- Do not touch the plate with bare hands.
- Apply very small, concentrated spots.
- Keep the chamber sealed.
- Mark solvent front immediately.
